Yes, today is officially the math nerd holiday Pi Day (3/14) but more importantly, it's Pie Day at Dear Mom, thanks to a local gourmet food delivery startup called Goldbely that's flying in pies from:
Momofuku Milk Bar (New York) "Crack Pie," "Grasshopper Pie," (pictured above) "Candy Bar Pie"
Achatz Handmade Pie Co. (Chesterfield, MI) "Crumb Michigan 4-Berry Pie" and "Caramel Nut Apple Pie" (pictured above)
Twedes Cafe (aka the cafe in Twin Peaks) (North Bend, WA) "Twin Peaks Cherry Pie" (pictured above)
Nick's Kitchen (Huntington, IN) "Hoosier Sugar Cream Pie" (pictured above)
Mike's Pies (Tampa, FL) "REESE'S Peanut Butter Pie" (pictured above) and "Killer Key Lime Pie" and Goode Co. (Houston, TX) "Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie."
I know this city isn't starving for pies, what with Mission Beach Cafe's legendary slices and Chili Pie's outstanding ice cream varieties, but the novelty of the Goldbely event (so many different pies in one place! Pi Day!) make it sound deliciously worthy.
The pies will be served at Dear Mom from 3:14 p.m. today until 7 p.m., they will cost $3.14 each, and your first order comes with a specialty cocktail – you know, if you need just a little more sugar in your system.
