Graphic designer and photographer Brian Singer has been taking pictures of drivers who text on the 101 and posting them to his website, Texting While in Traffic (TWIT). He recently stepped his shame game up and paid to have some of these pictures made into billboards posted around town. By airing them out, he hopes to help curb people's texting while driving habit.
According to Gizmodo, there are 11 billboards up around the city and Singer encourages others to join him and post pics they take of texters to his site as well. Singer's guidelines say not to take pictures while you're driving because "that's just stupid" and instructs participants to only photograph people in moving vehicles. Still, the pictures are pretty tightly framed so it's hard to tell how egregious their texting is (Are they actually sitting in a parked car?). Even with my slight reservations, it's probably better to err on the side of caution and not find your mug plastered throughout the city.
