One of the greatest advents of modern social media is the ability to analyze pretty much everything about yourself based on little to no information. The latest online data-intensive introspection tool comes from a startup called Five.
Five has created an algorithmic tool to analyze and dissect our Facebook posts in order to unveil a truer portrait of ourselves. This magical thing evaluates the substance of your status updates as well the style and tone on your spontaneous outbursts. Your personality is then graded on a 0-100 scale in five different personality traits: openness, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and neuroticism. Not exactly the first five things I'd want evaluated necessarily, but they sound super scientific, so they must be legit, right?
If that doesn’t stoke your intrigue, you can also use the tool to see how your results stack up against President Obama, Mark Zuckerberg, and a number other famous people – or see which Facebook friends are similar to you, because what is Facebook other than a Cold War competition between you and your social network. (The friend comparison thing could come in especially handy should you need to verify exactly which of your friends is the most neurotic.)
So take a crack at this digital palm reader and find your psychological twins. Mine is Mark Zuckerberg, so I'm guess I'm gonna start my own multi-billion dollar company soon.
