For five straight years in a row, Burger Records has made the long 4th of July weekend all about celebrating the best in punk, garage, and trash rock, and they're bringing the Burger Boogaloo party back to Oakland's Mosswood Park again this weekend. The all-ages festival runs from noon to 9 p.m. July 5-6 and there aren't enough words in the world for me to describe HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS LINEUP.

First of all, let's talk about Ronnie Spector. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will be here, backed by a 10-piece band helping her belt out classic Ronnettes tunes. It's as close to classic girl-group heaven as we'll get around here. And then we have Bay Area favorites Thee Oh Sees, NoBunny, and Shannon & the Clams, along with the dreamy pop of La Sera and the noisy "gnar boys of summer" White Fang.

There are 12 bands booked each day, and tickets are $35 a day or $50 for the weekend. From San Francisco, the park is an easy BART ride away (it's eight blocks from the MacArthur station).
