How many times can you say you've gone to a gallery in San Francisco and gone home with work by a well-known artist for $60? Probably never. Unless you've been to Southern Exposure's annual Monster Drawing Rally, that is.

The Monster Drawing Rally is a chance for almost any art enthusiast to collect work(s) by awesome artists they couldn't normally afford. It's also a cool event because the artists create their pieces at the rally, and all the proceeds from the night fund programs at Southern Exposure.

This year, 120 artists will participate in the Monster Drawing Rally, including some established local talents whose works you've seen around town over the years. Here are a few examples of pieces created at the 2012 Monster Drawing Rally by notable artists who will also be at Southern Exposure tonight:

Serena Cole

Steven Barich

Hilary Pecis

Vanessa Marsh

Micke Tong

Yuki Maruyama

Monster Drawing Rally takes places tonight from 6-11 p.m. at the Verdi Club. Admission is $20 ($15 for SoEx members).
