Last year Noise Pop expanded its event repertoire to include a massive block party on 20th Street between Bryant and Harrison. They booked great bands, great food vendors, and packed thousands of people into that pocket of the Mission near their HQ for a really fun afternoon. The idea was so successful they're moving forward with the second annual FREE 20th Street Block Party on Saturday, August 23 from noon to 6 p.m.
This lineup features two stages of music, with Rogue Wave, Cayucas, Ray Barbee and The Mattson 2 featuring Tommy Guerrero, Myron & E, San Francisco Rock Project, Melted Toys, The Bilinda Butchers, 8th Grader, and 1955.
Of course, these guys don't mess around when it comes to food either. There'll be plenty to eat and drink from neighborhood mainstays flour + water, Trick Dog, Central Kitchen, Sightglass Coffee, Salumeria, Rhea's Deli & Cafe, El Metate, The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, and Blowfish Sushi.
If the crush of last year's crowds was too much for you, you can always upgrade to the VIP experience (which includes a Very Important Peeing area as well as free booze and bites) for $100 a pop. The rest of us can enjoy a free gift courtesy of Noise Pop, the city's indie promoter who just loves to give back.
