We can all agree that San Francisco doesn't always feel like the most welcoming city for car owners. Luckily our friends at Metromile are doing their part to make owning a car in the city cheaper, easier, and even more fun. Last week Metromile announced the launch of its per mile insurance program to California, and we collaborated on a fun soiree to celebrate.

We packed the pavement outside Terra Gallery with cool cars for our guests to check out. There was a DeLorean, a Tesla, a ’62 Jaguar convertible, and countless selfies.

The signature cocktail – the California Breeze – featured local distillery Seven Stills′ small batch California Courage vodka, Lemon Bitters, and fresh basil. 

Metromile's dynamic CEO, Dan Preston, mingled with guests and spoke about his company's innovative approaches to car insurance and car ownership.

A Flying Camera was onsite offering up tons of photo booth fun for guests with its awesome flipbooks.

Pop Nation was in the house, delighting guests with handcrafted, all-natural popsicles, and Geyser Peak Winery offered a selection of its delectable wines from Sonoma County.

We invited guests to tell us their favorite road trip song so that we could make the ultimate playlist for your next voyage.

A favorite local band, Sandy's performed their iconic California sun-bleached pop paeans and threw in some Beach Boys covers for good measure.

Guests enjoyed delicious bites from local caterers Fogcutter, who even managed to mimic the Metromile Metronome in a sushi bite!

Re-creating some iconic scenes from Back to the Future with the Delorean was just too easy – can you blame us?

The folks at Metromile weren't about to let anyone leave empty-handed. They had free t-shirts for each guest.
