On the heels of last week's announcement about a Beyoncé dance class in San Francisco, we have a new series of fun fitness twists based on the dance styles most of us need more than a little help in executing. Case in point: tomorrow night, Aug. 19, you can learn how to really twerk it at TiltFit's TwerkLab in SOMA. The class is being taught by Paris, one of the Bay Area's top twerkers (AKA one of the badass women behind this video) and early bird tickets have already sold out. Organizers describe the hour-long workout by explaining, "Twerking is not just for the club ... it's also a great workout. The TwerkLab is a safe space for beginners and twerk-pros alike to work on their skills while getting your heart rate up."
As someone who has a short attention span for most workouts, I fully support TiltFit's experiment with Tuesday night classes that focus on a different diva dance style each week. I especially can get behind a fitness routine that celebrates having a whole lotta ass.
