Mixtape Mondays: Wake Up and Bake Something

"Hey Julie, Do You Have Any Sunrise Pictures?" image by Julie Wong

Julie Wong is a lawyer, and you don't usually associate that with being awesome (just playing the honesty game, guys).

Which sucks because your parents told you not to judge books by their covers, so knock that crap off, because Julie is awesome.

See, Julie is one of the "good guy" lawyers, like in the movies (or that one episode of Law & Order that you were really into) over at Villarreal Hutner & Todd. When she's not doing super lawyer-y stuff, Julie does non lawyer-y stuff in the Mission with her boyfriend, Quin Hoxie. (Quin is presumably smarter than most of us because he is the co-founder of the Potrero Hill-based search start-up, Swiftype.) Julie and Quin enjoy staying out way too late at the kinds of restaurants whose menus appear on must-eat lists. Because of that tendency, they aren't exactly morning people.

So Julie made a mix that strives to make the early hours of the day suck less. She also bakes a whole lot (you should check out her work), and this is what she listens to in the kitchen.

She's a sucker for a scorned-lover song with a beat. And look, even though some of these tunes are a little "dark," rest assured that she and Quin are doing just fine.

This is Wake Up and Bake Something (c'mon, even if that's not a joke about pot, don't you wanna believe that it was and that a lawyer made it?)
