We'd Love a Bike-In Movie in SF

When I first heard about the possibility of a Bike-In-Theater in San Francisco, I got really excited. Sure, we have our share of outdoor movies, but the idea of going somewhere unexpected to see a movie that only screens there for the night sounds awesome. Plus, in a city that has bicycle music and film fests, it's been a while since we've had a bicycle drive-in. I don't know of any such cyclist events where the movies are themed to the city too.

Last year a group called Manifold hosted a bike movie pop-up in Brooklyn, complete with treats from the fabulously named supper club Forking Tasty. This year Manifold wants to repeat the experience in SF, since part of its crew lives here.

The folks at Manifold reached out to The Bold Italic and I told them we'd love to get involved with this idea. The first step, though, is they've gotta be able to afford to host this little cinematic experience. If you agree that a SF Bike-In-Theater sounds like something you'd like to hit this fall, they have a Kickstarter campaign. Toss some change their way and perhaps we can bike over to a secret location and watch some SF-themed movies (which sounds like what they're aiming for) together.
