Back in September you may remember a giant burrito walking around town. That was me. To this day, my mom asks me, "Why Sarah, why were you in that burrito outfit?" Why? Because it's funny. And because we were promoting our West Coast tour, Bold Rush. What better mascot to represent San Francisco and The Bold Italic than a burrito? So we got Lauren Venell of Sweet Meats to create us a human-size tubesteak costume and I volunteered to be The Bold Burrito before and during our 12-day trip to Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle.
Bold Rush was awesome. We brought our friends Rice Paper Scissors and American Tripps, a traveling art show, and our own pop-up shop along with us to throw some really fun parties in each of our sister cities. We jammed a crazy amount of fun into our schedules (and even more food into our mouths). But the best part of traveling was meeting new people and finding cool places in every spot we visited. Another person we brought with us on tour was Eric Slatkin of High Beam Media, who I worked with to create the Bold Rush Burrito wrap-up video above, and the following short interviews with some of our favorite small business owners we met in the neighborhoods we threw our parties in: The Arts District in Los Angeles, the West End in Portland, and Capitol Hill in Seattle.
It's been two months since we've come back from our trip. So yeah, maybe it's a little late for souvenirs, but we wanted share these videos (and memories) that we brought back for you from our Bold Rush trip. I hope you enjoy them. If you end up visiting any of these places, please tell them we had a great time and miss them!
