I moved to San Francisco from New York City two years ago, and although I still miss the bustling energy of NYC, I have no complaints. San Francisco has been good to me. Where else can a former attorney live out her dream to be a restaurateur? It's been a wild journey to get to this point — from "WTF? You want to start a restaurant? Are you NUTS? In THIS economy? With YOUR background?" to our recent glowing review by food critic Patricia Unterman of the SF Examiner. I didn't get into the restaurant industry hoping to make a lot of money and was completely prepared to lose it all. But along the way, I've learned so much about myself, about this beautiful city and all the wonderful people that inhabit it, that has made each day worthwhile and I'm loving every minute of it. Almost as much as I love chocolate-dipped strawberries. Oh, and the perks are the icing on the cake: 1) industry people recognizing you and sending free food to your table 2) going to restaurants and getting to write it off as a R&D expense and 3) having happy customers come up to thank you.
