About Herve

Herve Ernest is an arts entrepreneur and like many in this fair city who hail from elsewhere, Herve is a transplant from NYC. After attending his first Broadway musical in 8th grade, he got the bug to go into acting and did so throughout high school, joining both drama teams on campus. With no desire to support that dream into college by his parents, however, Herve made a play for International Business and Marketing in college but the arts was always in his heart.

After landing in SF and working in Development for KQED, Herve founded the North Beach Jazz Festival with a friend and worked on it for the first 8 years, growing it from 1 day to a 9 day caravan of music and over 40,000 fans before founding SF Noir. Developing a passion and commitment to youth development and equity in education, Herve has also along the way been a published columnist, served as the Director of Development for the San Francisco Conservation Corps, Director of Marketing for First Graduate, an organization that helps young people finish high school and become the first in their families to graduate from college, and Director of Communications for Intersection for the Arts.

Through SF Noir, he gets to produce some innovative arts programming and also provide support to San Francisco school kids through SF Noir’s partnerships with SFUSD, SF Education Fund, Music in Schools Today, and more.
