About Christy

A former commune dweller, civil war re-enactment dodger and a one-time teeth model, Christy was born in Virginia and moved to San Francisco in 1998. She speaks fluent Chinese of the southern China redneck persuasion and can also mimic forms of Candian-ized English. A video artist, writer and filmmaker, Christy is the director of experimental shorts including Pen Pals, and the co-curator of the Non-Starving Artist Project. Her earthquake kit contains two pencils, an orange and a postcard that says “Glad we were here.”
