Gretchen Schrafft moved from New England to San Francisco in 2008--just long enough ago to forget there's such a thing as four seasons. She's written about eating, drinking, reading, and hiking for San Francisco magazine and is slowly and steadily working on a short story collection. If she could have a lifetime supply of any one substance, it would be a hard choice between Humphrey Slocum's Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee ice cream and Moonlight Brewing's Death and Taxes. She believes in reincarnation, the well-written sentence, and single malt scotch.
