San Francisco-based photographer Julie Michelle is looking for the unexpected and the unseen in her photography walks around San Francisco’s neighborhoods. Fascinated by the kaleidoscope of rich detail that a city environment has to offer, she enjoys creating images that evoke a feeling of depth and introspection in a place that is bustling with inhabitants.

Julie is the creator of the ongoing portrait and storytelling project, I Live Here: SF (iliveheresf.com), which is an open invitation to San Francisco residents to enjoy and participate in. A curated selection of I Live Here: SF was recently on view in San Francisco City Hall. Her work has been seen in the San Francisco Chronicle, SF Weekly, San Francisco magazine, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, SHOTS Magazine, The Urbanist, SFist.com, and 7x7.com. Her work has appeared in juried shows in Los Angeles, Virginia, Vermont, Minneapolis and New Orleans.
