About Nicole
Nicole was born in San Francisco and got her most important education — pre-school and college — in the city. While studying journalism at SF State, she spent junior year in Florence, Italy. She lived there and in Milan long enough to learn to defy lines like a native and obtain perfect pasta al dente without using a timer. As a result, she fears no carbs and until recently lived happily in complete ignorance of Glenn Beck and Bumpits. Her San Francisco turn-ons include foggy beaches, Irish coffee and piano bars. Turn offs: Eau de Muni and smoking bans. Her writing has appeared in Newsweek, Wired.com, The New York Times and the Italian versions of Vanity Fair and Linux Magazine, among others. Like most freelancers, she’s constantly foraging for interesting work. You can find her at @nico_mar on Twitter.
