Shannon Spanhake is the Deputy Innovation Officer for the City and County of San Francisco Mayor's Office. Her focus is on building an Open Government program focused on innovation to enable job creation, citizen engagement, and urban revitalization. Prior to this role, Spanhake worked at a startup founded with her patent-pending air monitoring technology. Before this, she held a dual appointment as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the engineering research institute, CalIT2, UCSD, and also, as a Sr. Researcher at the Center for Development Finance, a policy think-tank based in Chennai India.
