Sarah Rizk is a Bay Area local. Sarah enjoys growing her own food in her garden, as well as foraging for it in the forest. Sarah was inspired to start 1 Degree as part of her own personal quest to learn more about her food, who made it, and where it comes from. As she started to learn more about her food, she realized she really enjoyed learning new things to cook, and sharing the story of food in meals with friends.
Other than putzing around in the garden, Sarah enjoys wandering the coastline, building her own furniture, and sunshiny days in Dolores Park. Sarah also works in her professional life at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to decrease the impacts of climate change and work toward a more sustainable future.
