About Sasha
Sasha Wizansky co-founded Meatpaper, the world’s only quarterly print magazine about meat in culture and ideas, in 2007, and is now Editor-in-chief and Art Director. Her various occupations have included graphic designer, bookbinder, and illustrator. While studying sculpture in graduate school, she spent a year sewing pockets. Now four years old, Meatpaper is known internationally for its eclectic editorial approach, its colorful and quirky design sensibility, and its occasionally off-kilter approach to the topic of meat. At Meatpaper's inception, Sasha saw the project as primarily an artistic inquiry, and was pleasantly surprised that it was embraced by the community of Bay Area chefs, butchers, and other food professionals. She gladly returned the embrace, and has enjoyed producing all manner of collaborative and thoughtful food events at local restaurants and on the rooftop of SFMOMA.
