A Moveable Feast: B3 Backstory
Sponsors
The Bold Italic invites you to take part in our new drinking and dining series – A Moveable Feast – that brings locals behind-the-scenes at the restaurants we’re most excited about. These are private affairs where you’ll savor the specialties of the house, learn the inside story about the concepts driving the menus and wine lists, and meet the passionate food and drink lovers who created them.
First on our list is B3, a yet-to-open Mission outpost for the triumvirate of “bottles, burgers, and bites,” created by tastemaking wine aficionados Johnny Gato and Ron Elder. At this special preview dinner, you'll sample B3’s unique, “rogue” labels you won’t find elsewhere – small-batch wines Gato became familiar with while working at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon up in Napa Valley. It was there that he met chef Kevin Ahajanian, also part of the B3 team, who will provide a rich selection of burgers, sausages, salads, and desserts for this dinner.
B3 is set to open in early August, but we’ll seat you before the rush on Monday, August 2. Get in and get B3’s distinctive backstory – and the story of their curated wine list – first.

Does this include food? Wine? Is it just paying for the right to an early reservation? Is it just a presentation from the restauranteurs?
Jennifer M
Hi Blueboy. Price includes dinner and wine, thanks for asking. We'll make that clear in the writeup.

Would you please give the cross streets when you post addresses? It would help people find 1152 Valencia Street. Thank you.
Jennifer M
Sure. This one's Valencia between 22nd and 23rd.
