Presented by The Bold Italic, Get Lost Travel Books and Gear, The Triple Crown and Nomad Body Piercing
Recently we've noticed little pocket neighborhoods sprouting up throughout the city worthy of individual celebration. We named them “microhoods” just for the heck of it, and hundreds of you came out to celebrate FolSoMa and the Mission Mid 20s.
micro · hood - n. A piece of a neighborhood, perhaps only a block or two large, so glorious that it deserves its own name; i.e.: The Mission Mid-20s is a shining example of a microhood.
Our latest microhood discovery is Mint Slope – where Market Street runs through the shadow of the Federal Mint building and San Francisco's famous fog burns off to reveal all-night eats, artisanal cocktails, travel books, comic books, cutting-edge design, and collector vinyl treats.
The Triple Crown, already renowned for their incredible DJ-powered happy hours and themed events, are going to be serving up an even more compelling version (meaning cheaper) of their famous Taco Tuesdays with carnitas, carne asada, pulled pork, chicken, and potato with poblano pepper tacos for $2 plus some amazing drink specials.
Get Lost Travel Books and Gear will entice you to explore the world and your city with complimentary beer and a generous store-wide discount on travel accessories, luggage, globes, atlases, and over 9000 travel literature and guidebook titles.
Nomad Body Piercing will be knocking 18% off all piercing throughout the evening.
Design shop and art gallery Rare Device will be offering complimentary wine, edibles, and 20% off everything in the store, including their beautifully curated collection of apparel, home decor, and their own Rare Edition Artist series.
You'll have the opportunity to win some excellent beauty products courtesy of Metamorphosis Salon. They will also provide free hair style consultations and trim your bangs for only $5!
Al's Comics will be offering 10% off everything in the store - and upping the discount to 20% off for backstock - for anyone who says "Mint Slope" while making their purchase.
Pisco Latin Lounge and Destino will dish out incredible specials including their delicious tapas for only $5, select handmade cocktails for $6 and $3 beers.
DLX Skateboards will throw a sidewalk sale and BBQ with great deals to be had on skateboarding gear and apparel.
Gorilla Pete's hot dog cart will be on hand with their Saag's 100% Beef Franks, Saag's Hots and Chicken sausages, and Swartz Bratwurst.
The Orbit Room will play host to a live jazz from The Joe Callum Trio and feature select $3 beers and $3 oysters on the half shell.
Mali Num Num Treats will be on hand serving up Filipio / Asian Fusion street food and sweet treats.
Unfortunately, Smitten Ice Cream have had to cancel but look for their shop to open in Hayes Valley in early September. We'll be serving Mint Three Twins Ice Cream, while supplies last, at Get Lost.
Pick up a Mint Slope event map during the event at any participating merchant to find all other stops and activities.
THE EVENT IS FREE but PLEASE RSVP so we can get a count of how many are coming. Supplies are limited but the fun is not.
All ages are welcome, but most activities are 21+.
