Blow your mind with the electrifying science of Tesla coils and Austin Richards, PhD—aka Dr. MegaVolt®. Part of a special 40th anniversary event, The Exploratorium Science After Dark will feature Dr. MegaVolt® jousting with 14-foot electrical arcs from his high voltage Tesla Coil.
Dr. Richards, who received his doctorate in particle physics from UC Berkeley, has been making his own Tesla coils since 1981, and has performed with them since 1997. After his success at Burning Man, Dr. Megavolt gives you another chance to enjoy his electrifying acts within San Francisco's city limits.
