Last year we started noticing little pocket neighborhoods sprouting up throughout the city worthy of individual celebration. We named them “microhoods” just for the heck of it, and hundreds of you came out to celebrate FolSoMa, the Mission Mid 20s, Mint Slope, and Mission Treat with us.

micro · hood - n. A piece of a neighborhood, perhaps only a block or two large, so glorious that it deserves its own name; i.e.: Valencia Bottoms is a shining example of a microhood.

Our latest microhood discovery is Valencia Bottoms – once overlooked as the stretch between Market Street and The Mission, Valencia below 15th is quietly becoming a destination unto itself, housing delicious slow bar coffee, impeccable midcentury modern furnishings, beautiful visual art, along with locally-made fashions and vintage threads.

Join us on Thursday, April 21 from 6 to 8 pm to meet the neighbors and take advantage of incredible bargains, delicious eats, complimentary libations, and a few surprises provided by Four Barrel Coffee, Nooworks, Michael Rosenthal Gallery, Farnsworth, The Common, and other great Valencia Bottoms merchants.

Owner Jeremy Tooker will be spinning records at Four Barrel, which will also offer a special discount on their delicious Affogatos - $3 instead of $5.25 - as well as free beer courtesy of Speakeasy Ales & Lagers.

Farnsworth will be pouring complimentary wine and extending a 15% discount on their beautifully curated selection of classic midcentury home furnishings.

Enjoy 20% off all Taylor Stitch shirts and 10% off all other items at The Common plus complimentary cocktails and music.

Get 25% off everything in the store at Nooworks while digging music from the Explorist International DJs and free beer.

S.F. Community Acupuncture - down the street neighbors - will be on hand to offer coupons good for $15 off first time visits.

Peruse the gallery yard sale (20% off everything) and check out artist Kacie Erin Smith’s first solo show, Real Shining People, at Michael Rosenthal Gallery while sipping complimentary wine.

And if you're hungry, Little Knock food cart will be on hand with delicious Vietnamese treats.

THE EVENT IS FREE but PLEASE RSVP so we can get a count of how many are coming. Supplies are limited but the fun is not.
