This African-American woman has always wondered why she has so many white friends, as though her African-American heritage should dictate a different social circle. She thinks this line of thought reveals the undertone of racial politics of our nation. My White Friends is a series of portraits of Myra’s friends, peers, and mentors. It’s a project that explores the challenges of presenting whiteness in a photograph. Was she successful in doing so? Check it out!
