Ray Sumser, one of the Bay Area's most up-and-coming artists, is hosting a show at the Dogpatch's Treehouse Gallery, complete with interactive events and many-a pop culture reference. The month long installation of his iconic work in paint, drawing, print, and digital media culminates in the mind-boggling 9-footer oil painting of 1,500 recognizable pop culture characters and the 12-foot Nude Starbucks Interior vista, the final throw down between Super-Man and God, kaleidoscopic psycho-spiritual mind maps and more, if you can believe it.
Raymond J Sumser grew up in Marin, graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (07' PAINT/FILM) and was a founding member of the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz. His work has been show around California, and his prints hang in a whopping 17 countries.
