Who should take this class?
All photographers: Learning how to "tell the truth" in photographs the basis of telling a story or a "lie," if you will, in images.

What you'll learn:
- Documentary photography is a style with a variety of uses. We'll go over shooting for publication, environmental portraiture, and photo essay.

- This short course explores the broad spectrum of documentary photography. We'll discuss how it is similar and differs from photojournalism.

What to bring:
Students should bring their portfolio (singles and/or photo essay) on a disc or computer, 10-20 images. By learning how to critique other people's work, you will understand how to make yours better.

By the end of the class:
You'll learn what the difference between to shooting for publication, portraits and photo essay. If you bring yoru portfolio, you'll better understand what to focus on and what to work on.
