DESCRIPTION:\nSince 2009\, The Bold Italic has been celebrating local cre
 ativity in San Francisco. Between our online mag\, print publications\, 
 events\, and pop-up shop\, we focus on covering and collaborating with t
 he artists\, writers\, local businesses\, and organizations who make us 
 excited to be living in the Bay Area. For one week this fall\, though\, 
 we’re taking the show on the road\, exporting a couple SF elements tha
 t we love to Los Angeles\, Portland\, and Seattle.\n\nBetween Friday\, S
 ept. 28 and Saturday\, Oct. 6\, we’ll be caravaning from Southern Cali
 fornia to the Northwest with a pop-up shop\, art show curated by Dan Joh
 nson Lake\, and nighttime event that combines Rice Paper Scissors’ Vie
 tnamese street food with American Tripps’ Berlin-style ping-pong\, DJs
 \, and live music. The idea is to showcase what we’re excited about in
  San Francisco outside our borders and to show people back home what lik
 e-minded locals are enthusiastic about in our West Coast sister cities. 
 During this week\, all the content on www.thebolditalic.com will come fr
 om writers in Los Angeles\, Portland\, and Seattle\, with stories and bl
 og posts about life in those cities\, as well as previews of our activit
 ies on the road and profiles of the folks we’re partnering with along 
 the way. \n\nKicking off on September 28-29 in Los Angeles\, our host wi
 ll be Poketo\,  the online destination and newly opened brick and mortar
  flagship store for art and design-driven wares\, located in the booming
  Arts District of Downtown LA. Over two days we’ll be showcasing South
 ern California art selected including works by Luisa Pelipetz\, Mike Hsu
 ing\, and Emily Ryan\, along with SF art and hand-fashioned items for sa
 le. At night we’ll be playing ping-pong\, eating Vietnamese spring rol
 ls\, and listening to the sounds of Syrup Jeans\, featuring members of B
