Susan Sanford's new series combines assemblage and reworked photographs, most frequently embroidered, exploring the dialogue -and sometimes the conflict - between nature and technology. While machinery grinds up forests, the engines of nature are at work oxidizing that same machinery. Clocks tick , run down, rust and become homes to new life. Look closely at the forest floor and undiscovered worlds reveal themselves. It's a sort of rock, paper, scissors played out around us every day.
