What are you up to these days? I've been climbing the problems at Mission Cliffs, and also planning a trip to the San Juan Islands to see the Orcas with my grandparents this summer. I am designing a restaurant in a tiny space at 2255 Polk – stay tuned for the opening date.

Where do you get your local gossip? I have coffee at Blue Bottle every morning and that’s the place for all the local dish. The dog park surprisingly is also a good spot to pick up on the collective buzz.

Who's your favorite quintessential local character? Jordon Darula, aka the Bush Man, because I remember him from when I first visited SF as a kid in 1987 and he scared the shit out of me. I admire his focus, patience, and extreme persona.

What's your favorite San Francisco institution? The Design Center is a great resource for interior design, etc. We are lucky to have it here in SF.

What do you get obsessive about? I have amassed quite a collection of succulents which seem to grow very well here. It’s usually ok to pinch a little bud from any plant you see along the sidewalk, and now my roof deck is a mini botanical garden of succulents.

What would you change about the city? SF has some growing up to do and come to terms with the fact that it is now a major cosmopolitan city. Bars should serve until 4 a.m., restaurants until midnight. I would also address the homeless problem.
