Neighborhood: The Mission

Gig: Guitarist, singer, & songwriter for The Sandwitches and The Golden Girls

What are you up to these days? Hanging with my boyfriend, eating cookies in bed while watching old movies.

What big event will we find you at in the next couple weeks? Singing at the Winter Formal at the Verdi Club.

Who's your favorite quintessential local character? Omer (M.C. Escher-dressed Mission street musician), because he's amazing.

What's your favorite under-the-radar SF restaurant? There's this Salvadoran joint on South Van Ness between 14th and 15th Streets. I don't know what it's called, but it's a real sit-down kind of place and they are really, really nice. I don't even remember if the food is good or not, but the staff gets a gold star for hospitality.

Where do you go to relax and get away from it all? Le beach.

What's your favorite SF institution? Trees and gardens in the park.

What do you get obsessive about here in SF? How f*%$ed it is that Auto Return, a private corporation, profits from the agonizing and expensive misfortune of having your car towed. That's just wrong.

What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? I've been meaning to get to the Bryant Street US Post Office. I'm curious if I still have a P.O. Box. I can't remember if I paid for six months or a year.

What would you change about SF? I would love to be able to pay my rent.
