SF is... a great place to try something, and fail, and try something else.
Where does everybody know your name? The Curiosity Shoppe. Owners Derek Fagerstrom and Lauren Smith are Pop-Up Magazine's brilliant creative directors.
Where would you have your last meal on earth? I'd fill my shopping bags at the Alemany Farmer's Market, and cook at home.
Where do you get your city gossip? If I tell you, they'll stop talking to me.
Why do you love your neighborhood? It's actually how I imagined life in California before I lived here.
What's your own secret spot? The highest point on Dolores Street – you can see the Bay, the skyline, Twin Peaks, and all of those palm trees. I walk there to clear my head before I write.
What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? Outerlands. Appropriately, it's far away.
Issue 5 of Pop-Up Magazine is happening live on stage this Fall.
