Neighborhood: Western Addition / NOPA

Gig: Yoga teacher, freelance writer, and editor

What are you up to these days? Reinventing myself, probably too frequently.

Why do you love your neighborhood? It reminds me a little bit of Brooklyn, where I  grew up – it's diverse and the neighbors are friendly. There are good health food stores, old barber shops with character, and lots of yoga studios within walking distance.

Where would you have your last meal on earth? At Samovar – I'd order the maki bowl and Moorish mint tea.

What's your favorite under-the-radar restaurant? Waziema is a bar on Divisadero, but not everyone knows it serves great Ethiopian food.

What would you change about San Francisco? Definitely the wind. I'd tell it to relax a little :-). But then the whole universe would probably move here.

What's your favorite San Francisco institution? The Castro Theatre

Where do you go to relax and get away from it all? Yoga class,  or Alamo Square Park for a walk.
