Liam Passmore Principal at Shave and a Haircut/Tennis Maniac
is not here to participate, he's here to judge
Neighborhood: The Mission
Gig: PR guy; much preferred over “publicist”
What are you up to these days? Since I concentrate on arts and culture clients, plus a few restos and designers thrown in, this is a big time of the year for me: Litquake, AXIS Dance Company’s Home Season, just finished a gig with the wonderful choreographer/thinker Chris Black. Next up: Raisa Punkki this November! (Oh, and a super secret project that involves fire and a handsome mensch with the initials JD, but no other comment as of yet).
What event will we find you at this week? I’m a tennis maniac with a McEnroe-like bad temper and I play for hours and hours on the weekends, so I pretty much try to lay low, but Hardly Strictly awaits!!
Who's your favorite quintessential local character? One of the tennis regulars I play with, Adolpho … originally from Argentina, he reminds me very much of that guy on the Dos Equis commercial with the grey hair and beard who wanders the world as its most “interesting man.” He just has that vibe.
What's your favorite under-the-radar SF restaurant? There are under the radar restaurants left in SF? Why was I not informed? The banh mi at Y & Y Vietnamese Deli on Clement are so crazy good that I suspect they might have heroin in them.
What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? Freemans Sporting Club. But since I buzz my own head it seems pointless. When I grow back the beard I might give them a whirl. I love barbaring so much I named my company Shave and a Haircut.
What would you change about SF? Our mass transit would be underground and rival Paris in scope and style.
