Neighborhood: The Mission

Gig: Content Director, The Bay Bridged (by night and weekend) + Production Coordinator for Heist (by day)

What are you up to these days?  Professionally, I assist in producing narrative-style, commercial video content with an incredibly rad team of people at Heist out of our studio in the Mission. When I'm not busy with that, I'm mostly trying to get people excited for the Bay Bridged's summertime music festival, Phono Del Sol

SF is… chock full of cute dogs, but who are their compassionate landlords?

Who's your favorite quintessential local character? This guy named Jason Yim. He is, in my mind, what you'd call an international cycling celebrity. You can see the top of his head behind the iMac on the store counter inside Benny Gold, or biking the streets, or on the Internet here or here.

Where's your go-to date place? Call me crazy, but I would name AT&T Park the ultimate date destination, and if I go on enough dates there, I'll someday live my dream of getting on the "Kiss Cam."

Why do you love your neighborhood? My neighborhood is crucial to my venturing out to see a shit ton of music  – the Rickshaw Stop, Bottom of the Hill, The Independent, and even the Great American are all just a short bike ride away.

What's your favorite under-the-radar SF restaurant? Thai Time in the Inner Richmond is hands down the best Thai food I've eaten in any city. Andy Cabic (of Vetiver, DJing at Phono Del Sol this weekend!) gave the restaurant a shout out on stage at Treasure Island Music Festival a few years ago, so I know that he has my back.

Where do you go to relax and get away from it all? The Outer Sunset! There's a cluster of cozy, cute small businesses out there that I love supporting, like Outerlands and General Store. I'd rather be near an ocean when the Mission is making me feel claustrophobic and socially anxious.

What do you get obsessive about here in SF? Finding dog-friendly establishments for Charlie Browner and me to hang out in. Also, legit Japanese things, pickup games of baseball, street style, and the perfect shoe for living in SF.
