Neighborhood: North Beach

Gig: socially-conscious marketer; aspiring children's book author

What are you up to these days? Raising a two and a half year old, working towards my Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and illustrating a children's book.

Where do you get your local gossip? Caffe Trieste, the baristas know everybody.

Who's your favorite quintessential local character? Dave Eggers. Eggers, McSweeney's, and 826 Valencia embody the qualities I like best in San Francisco: good hearted, quirky, and smart.

Where's your go-to date place? When you have a child, finding a babysitter so you can sneak out to a movie is romantic.

Why do you love your neighborhood? It's an iconic San Francisco neighborhood. Great coffee and parks with Coit Tower and the Transamerica Pyramid providing the backdrop.

What would you change about SF? It's such a great city to walk through, I wish there were more car-free areas. Let's block off some of these street permanently and fill them in with grass. What about Grant Street between Vallejo and Green?
