Neighborhood: The Mission
Gig: Head of Operations, WellDone
What are you up to these days? I'm using the design and technology resources of the Bay Area to tackle water and sanitation issues in East Africa. My exciting new personal project is rebuilding an abandoned cabin in Gualala.
SF is... the edge of a continent in so many ways.
Who's your favorite quintessential local character? The guy with spray-painted gold puffy winter boots who used to play sax outside Candlestick after 49ers games.
Why do you love your neighborhood? I love that it's so densely packed with art, culture, and technology, and yet I often find human poop on the street. It's the best of both the developed and developing world.
Where's your secret spot? My secret spot is Langton Labs, a warehouse where a couple of my friends live. There's always something fascinating and weird going on there.
What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? Mission Bowling Club. Just opened a block away from me.
