thinks art is the answer

Rebekarodriguez

Neighborhood: The Castro

Gig: Education Program Director, Intersection for the Arts; Producer, Bring Your Own Queer

What are you up to these days? Putting the finishing touches on Saturday's Bring Your Own Queer (BYOQ) festival in Golden Gate Park.

Where do you get your local gossip? SFist, because it's just the right blend of news and snark.

Where's your go-to date place and why? The Orbit Room for the Moscow Mule. The crystalized ginger bites you back.

What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? The Stone Pony. I swung by for their opening party and went home with a hot pair of shoes. It’s time to go back and explore new horizons.

Who's your favorite quintessential local character? Juanita MORE! She throws amazing parties, she’s incredibly fierce, and she’s socially conscious. To me, she epitomizes San Francisco. And she’s headlining this year’s BYOQ.

Where's your own secret spot? The rocks above the Randall Museum.
Even after the sun has set in Dolores Park, you can get the last bits of golden glow from its craggy top.

What would you change about San Francisco? The high rent. It’s a loss for our city that so many artists are being forced out.
