Neighborhood: NOPA

Gig: Owner, Rare Device

Why do you love your neighborhood? The Divisadero corridor is changing rapidly but still has the funk. There is high-end dining at Nopa but also the magical elixir peanut milk at KK Cafe. You can get a comic book, a mid-century dining set, chocolate truffle, venus fly-trap plant, and a bike tune-up all within three blocks.

What's your most embarrassing SF moment? Getting "Konichiwa"-ed while walking down Powell Street in the tourist zone. Dude, I live here and I'm Chinese!

Where would you have your last meal on earth (and what would you eat)? It would have to be a buttermilk bar from Bob's Donuts at about 11 p.m., fresh and hot.

What's your favorite San Francisco institution? I love finding flyers, plaques and stickers from folks like the Jejune Institute around town. When you travel on foot everywhere, you notice the little things, it's like a personal treasure hunt around the city.

If you could change one thing about San Francisco, what would it be? Please let me take my dog to farmers' markets. They do it in NYC, why can't they do it here?
