Neighborhood: Bernal Heights

Gig: Co-Owner, The Imagineering Company

What are you up to these days? Sharing our new book Pat the Foodie with the world.

Where would you have your last meal on earth? Zuni for a Bloody Mary and a burger… oh yeah, and a mountain of those shoestring potatoes.

Who's your favorite quintessential local character? The Ex-Meter Maid Motor Cart Subculture. These 3-wheeled repurposed, repainted carts adorned with doll heads, stickers, and anti-establishment slogans are about as quintessential San Francisco as you can get.

Where's your go-to date place? Spork. It’s small, fun, has yummy food, and contains the spirit of what was once a Kentucky Fried Chicken. And they serve pot brownies (brownies made in a pot!).

Why do you love Bernal Heights? The interesting people. The enigmatic streets. The incandescent views. The fantastic location. And, the perfect weather.

What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? Farnsworth in the Mission. I love midcentury stuff.

What would you change about San Francisco? I would like to reorganize the seasons because our summer is more like winter and our winter is more like summer.
