Why do you love your neighborhood? Having moved to San Francisco three years ago from New York City, I find the Mission similar to the East Village in the 1980s, devoid of chain stores and full of characters, possibility, and just the right amount of danger.

What's your secret spot in town? I can’t tell you exactly where but there is a magic blackberry bush up in the Castro hills that puts out.

Where do you get your city gossip? I get my foodie/restaurant gossip from Tablehopper. Keeps me salivating to try new places and well informed.

If you could change one thing about San Francisco, what would it be? I hate that the BART is carpeted, but I hear they are slowly getting rid of if…phew.

What's your favorite San Francisco institution? Community gardens all over this city!
