Neighborhood: The Mission

Gig: Founder of Party Nails

Who's your favorite quintessential local character? I love the woman who works at the corner produce market at Valencia and 24th. She always calls me sweetie and comments on my nail art. She has the best personal style (glitter eyeliner!) that only she can pull off.

What event will we find you at this weekend? I'm bringing Party Nails to Le Pony Express Variety Show at Engine Works. There's going to be burlesque, music, comedy and other performances!

Where's your go-to date place? My boyfriend and I went to Starbelly a while ago and freaked out about their sardines, so we've been there a few times.

Where's your secret spot? Alemany Farm. I know it's not a secret to many people, but it can be hard to find. I love that it's nestled in the strange piece of land between intersections of various neighborhoods and highways. It's a verdant oasis in an area that can feel forgotten.

Where do you go to relax and get away from it all? Jin Healing for Women. Affordable massages by strong ladies? Yes please.

What's your favorite SF institution? I love Bernal Hill. I always feel accomplished when I make it to the top, and the view is the best reward.

What do you get obsessive about here in SF? Seasonal produce!

What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? I haven't made it to General Store yet, but I'd love to get my hands on some of their beautiful goodies.

What would you change about SF? I would insert a month of summer weather.
