On busy days, you can also witness the diversity of the city. It's a bit like being at the DMV, except everyone is dressed up. It's a monumental space (coffered dome ceiling, pillars, impressive staircase) with wonderful diffused sunlight, so there is a softness to the grand architecture. There's certainly a romantic and enduring energy within this building, so it's easy to see why so many people choose to come together here."
