R.A.G.
RAG CO-OP (Residents Apparel Gallery), located in San Francisco, has proudly showcased over 70 locally designed and manufactured since December 6 2002, currently making Residents Apparel Gallery, one of San Francisco's oldest established clothing cooperative and gallery. Designers and artists are able to rent rack/shelf space, consign their wares and work at this space to test new designs, gain visibility (through hung biography and signage) and build a clientele.
RAG's Curator, Blakely Bass, a craft enthusiast and environmentalist at heart founded the store with her desire
to create a sustainable community-style business. This "Apparel Gallery" employs/sells art/designs from
"Residents" only. This creates a smaller carbon footprint by using less fossil fuel in the shipping that garment manufacturing abroad would entail.
There is a constant influx of new men's, women's, and children's clothing, accessories, fine art and home design
that is crafted on a monthly basis causing the racks to boast anything from deconstructed, one-of-a-kind gems to more tailored ready-to-wear garments.
