Amity Bacon’s name, roughly translated from Cherokee, means “Friends with Breakfast Meat.” Her parents chose it while traveling the West Coast on a purple school bus before landing in Los Angeles, where she was promptly birthed right down the street from the Museum of Jurassic Technology.

She settled in San Francisco after studying journalism and the media in the redwoods of Santa Cruz and beneath the white skies of London. She currently works as a communications specialist for non-profits building online communities. She also spends some of her free time spotting wizards:
