New Video: Barn Owl & Date Palms Get Zen
So this was a pleasant surprise in my inbox this morning. My buddy Christopher Musgrave, a musician/artist/videographer, emailed me links to videos he shot and edited from our "Meditations on San Francisco" event we did with the San Francisco Zen Center. Unfortunately he wasn't able to capture Danny Paul Grody's performance, but he did get my favorite Date Palms song (see above). They were playing in a candlelit courtyard, surrounded by "stained glass" transparencies David Wilson curated on the window behind them.
He also got a bit of Barn Owl on film, and this incredible instrumental number still gives me chills. The band set up in the Zen Center's dining hall, and people watched from while sitting on mats, pillows, and chairs.
