If you're looking to buy local handmade goods on Etsy, there's a hard-to-find but simple-to-use filter. On the homepage, click on "Buy" in the top left corner, look for the "Ways to Shop" box in the right-hand column, and simply click on the link that says, "Shop Local." In the search box that pops up, type in "San Francisco" (entering your zip code still returns results for the whole city, not just your neighborhood, unfortunately) and voilà! Shop away. Better yet, use the links above to buy something from the artists featured in this story.

If you're looking to sell, click on "Sell" (it's right next to "Buy") and follow the instructions from there. For more information, check out The Etsy Seller Handbook.
