The Bold Italic's microhood party returns this month to celebrate an amazing corner of the city on Thursday, Aug. 23. This round is focused on Bernal Flats (also known as La Lengua or SoCha), the pocket of Mission St. just past Cesar Chavez that plays host to some of San Francisco's best spots for dining, drinking, and shopping. 

The Bold Italic is teaming up with Mitchell's Ice Cream, Secession Art and Design, ICHI Sushi, Cruz Skate Shop, Rock Bar, 31Rax, El Rio, Way Out! Cafe and an assortment of awesome merchants for an evening of delicious eats, complimentary libations, and sweet bargains. 

The Tongue in Cheek microhood is a great excuse to come hang with the neighbors and help spread the word of mouth on everything Bernal Flats related. We're looking forward to celebrating one of our favorite local destinations with you.

Secession Art and Design, the combination gallery, boutique, and workspace that features art, jewelry, and clothing from over 50 makers will be offering complimentary wine along with the kick off  of their 5th anniversary sale, with 20% off their jewelry and clothing. The sale will continue through the next day but the wine will not.

Mitchell’s, a local fixture for almost 60 years, serves a large variety of ice cream flavors handmade in-store daily. Throughout the event, Mitchell’s will be offering a free junior scoop (in a plain cone, sugar cone or cup) with any purchase.

Get a jump on the festivities at El Rio. Their much-loved happy hour will be in effect starting at 5 pm - with well drinks and beer pints for $3, bloody mary pints for only $5.

31RAX is an affordable thrift store that sells hand-picked vintage clothing for men and women. The space also serves as a backdrop for photo shoots, and hosts art and photography from local artists. 31RAX will give out $10 gift certificates to celebrate their one-year anniversary.

ICHI's heavenly sushi means that their intimate restaurant is always packed, but the wait is definitely worth it. As part of our microhood, they'll be providing patrons with one complimentary salad for each party, up to two people.

Stop by Way Out! Cafe for a double espresso and sweet item of your choice for only $4 and hang out as DJ David Greenfield will be spinning some boss tunes throughout the evening.

Cruz Skate Shop offers a combination of roller derby and skateboard gear. This hybrid concept shop will be offering half off Cruz Skate Shop Logo apparel, as well as a free gift with purchase of $100 or more.

Rock Bar, a geologically-themed bar from the Front Porch folks, features classic and tasty cocktails in a friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. Stop in for complimentary snacks from the Front Porch along with delicious drink specials.
