Shanta's Vegetarian Ethnic Kitchen

A lifelong vegetarian, Shanta Nimbark Sacharoff was born in the state of Gujarat in northwest India and spent much of her youth in her family's kitchen. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Mexico, and Central America, and has become acquainted with various international vegetarian cuisines. Shanta presently lives in San Francisco, where she is co-manager of Other Avenues Food Store and the mother of three children. She has been studying nutrition and teaching Indian and international vegetarian cooking for over 30 years.
