About Sam

Sam is a freelance reporter transplanted to San Francisco by way of a small city outside of Malpensa (I could spit on the tarmac from my bedroom window) and a year in the dregs of the big city (fashion -- don't ask). Originally from upstate New York stock, his roots run through Middlebury, Vermont and feel most at home in the green. A compromise for culture led him in to the urban (or so they say) landscape of San Francisco where he covers local news for KQED and KALW and writes on criminal justice issues for change.org.
